Boat Seat Repairs
Posted By Leather Repair Guy on July 1, 2010
Summer is here and with that I am doing tons of repairs in boats. Boats are one of those things that are always getting damaged. The thing with boats is that once the vinyl has a rip it doesn’t take much to deteriorate from there. Water gets into the foam and soon it starts to get a moldy, mildew smell.
This makes it a prime thing to repair. This is a stern seat back with a 5 inch cut. The vinyls surface is cut but the backer material is still intact.
This was a rather simple repair because the backer material was holding the two sides together and I simply needed to fill it and airbrush in the color to match the original material. This rip simply disappears and it didn’t cost the customer $100′s to have the seat re-upholstered.
